Cup Tie Set

Post by josie andrews »

The Carnegie Challenge Cup Fourth Round tie between Widnes and Lezingan will take place this Thursday at the Stobart Stadium.

The French Elite league leaders will set out by road and ferry to arrive in Halton in time for the 19:30pm kick off this Thursday, 22nd April 2010.

James Wynn's Lezignan outfit will be a very stern test for the Vikings, having lost only one game this season and currently on course for their domestic double.

Wynn was the man of the match for Toulouse in their 2005 Quarter Final success over the Vikings, when coincidentally the Vikings were stranded in France for three days due to an air traffic control strike.

The tie must be played this week as FC Lezignan are scheduled to play in the French Cup Final the following weekend and the winners of this tie will entertain Wigan Warriors in the 5th Round on the weekend of the 8th/9th May 2010

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
