A very useful squad player who had a very good step. Once watched a young Panapa tore a GB touring side apart in NZ.

His signing raised a few eyebrows at the time but he was a player who people perhaps thought was average who when he came here improved a lot.

We had a knack back then of seemingly spotting something in certain players who were OK-ish, getting them signed and turning them into very good players. Billy McGinty was another like that.

Remember seeing him at an a-team game at cp and asked for his autograph very nice man and always seemed to play with a smile. Scored a great smiley try at wembley '94?

did he move to salford?

Every team needs players like those - not all can be superstars, and I like the way the club seems to be heading now in that regard.

I think he was MOM in the Premiership final against Castleford he was class player , could play in any position and never let you down.
Another player Ged Byrne local lad would never let the side down and very useful player ..
