How many decent players have come through the bulls academy? If they had invested in youth then maybe they could have replaced Deacon with a homegrown player rather than buying Orford, only to see him get injured and then disappear back to Oz

It seems that they are at their own low point... not as bad though due to there being no relegation. They will be granted another license no doubt.

It's a cycle... Wigan's was a slow decline for just under a decade peaking at 2006. Bradford sadly are near their low trough... they will be back and the crowds will follow suit, especially if the Odsall overhaul is going ahead in 2 or 3 years time.

Browsed RLFans yesterday. Some posted that Matt Orford had said on Radio Leeds that he was committed to seeing out his contract and looking forward to resuming training next month.
Bulls fans are now savouring the prospect of a half back pairing with Leon Pryce.
Must admit it would be good for them if it comes off. Still, I wouldn't like to think our season depended on someone so unreliable as Orford!

I wouldn't gloat on them too much to be honest - their downfall isn't that similar the way our 2006 season could have lead us.

They had a talent heavy team with older players taking up silly salary cap proporations and a 'flexable' approach to the cap limits. This cobbled their youth development and that is were they are really paying now. They also spent a stupid amount of money on that ill advised legal battle with Leeds, instead of settling out of court and saying sorry for pinching Harris back from Welsh Union.

The main difference for them, is that as the on field performance has dipped, so has their crowd and their income just didn't continue to sustainable levels. Our crowd didn't, and at the tailend of 2006 actually went up as the drama of the relegation flirting unfolded.

This last year they may have been woeful, but were one of the 7 teams not paying anything like the full salary cap. That tells the tale.

I wasn't gloating Rich. They have won more GFs than we have and I would not like to see them miss the playoffs 3 years running!

they've sold over 10500 season tickets for next year at 60 quid each due to their pledge 10k marketing campaign. Doubt most of the people will go to all the games but even so at least they're trying to drum up support.

Bulls is coaching on the hand me down.
It has got progressively worse from the days of Brian Smith to the debacle of Steve McNamarra's reign.
Nobles team was inheritted from Smith and Elliot, so he had a decent squad.
Once players like Henry Paul, Vagana, Viakona, Lowes, Peackock, Hape, Gilmour and Vainikolo started to gradually leave without suitable replacement it was more nails in the coffin for Bradford Bulls.
The board have never looked to re-establish the success of the 2003/2004 era which had a very good fanbase.
