I'm old enough to remember many famous wins by our great and glorious team, but none quite lives in the memory like last night.
What a wonderful achievement by everyone concerned. The boys played out of their skins, but the victory is a credit to everyone at the club.
You have to congratulate Ian Lenagan for the vision to make it happen and to convert a team who once were great into one that is great again.
Michael Maguire deserves special credit for turning a group of talented players into a talented team.
But as I sit and reflect on Wigan's win few emotions come to mind other than the wonderful, wonderful elation at a great victory. Saints must be bitterly disappointed, but they played with dignity and honour. They haven't become a team of nigglers and spoilers. They took their loss on the chin, and I have heard no complaints from their supporters. Saints are a credit to Rugby League.
But this was Wigan's night and Wigan's season. Well done to everyone.
Can't wait for next season.

Very nicely put Steve. This one meant so much more. After the ups and downs of the last few years, this one just felt more important. I take my hat off to all the staff at the club but also feel that we as the fans deserve some credit. It was a sea of cherry and white. We showed how we feel about Wigan RL.
A fantastic night. A new era. Roll on next season!!!

I agrre with the sentiments expressed and thought it poor form when certain fans booed Cunningham as he collected his losers (not runners up) medal.

Saturday was a beautiful day for us and one I shall never forget. Everything was just right about the day, travelling to Old Trafford went well, The Fanzone was quality, I didn't even have to queue long at the bar once in the ground, I only had the one though as I wanted to remember the day as best I could. Old Trafford was beyond amazing and it actually felt like a home match but on a much bigger scale. At full time I looked to the sky and thought of my mother who would be so proud of Wigan's victory.
I'll never let St Helens fans forget the 2010 Grand Final. St Helens fans who ejaculate at the thought of KFC(Keiron F***ing Cunningham) and are upset that he did not go out in style and that they lost four, yes four Grand Finals in a row, With the the fourth being against us, A resurgent Wigan.

James Graham (this year's top metre maker!) was upset when he thought he was on the end of a error by Silverwood, but on rewatching the match I actually think the referee was right.
That apart the match was remarkeably free of niggle and spite.
Compare with the feeling against Leeds and Warrington. Compare it also with their fans' reactions and behaviour. I never feel uncomfortable at Saints.
So I repeat that our greatest rivals are a true credit to the game. The first to congratulate Wigan was Keiron Cunningham and the game will be poorer without him.
So I will not join the negativity towards Saints and nor do I think it's justified.
However this has been Wigan's night and Wigan's season for which we should all be proud and happy. Well done everyone at the club.
Josie Andrews was right from the start - 2010 the year of the Warrior!
