Foremost everybody played superby but I was gobsmacked to hear Tommy for MOM. IMO the match showed the difficulty of Tommy playing 7. Fantastic individual talent but he cannot kick if his life depended upon it. Every kick that went over the in goal deadball line was from Tommy.

I thought Deacon hasd his best game for Wigan and it was worth signing him for that match alone. Backspin on kicks etc, brilliant kicks. Wonder why he did not take over the place kicking?

For Harry Sunderland I would have gone

1) Sam Tomkins. Awesome effort. Full of energy and a threat every time he touches the ball.

2) Stuart Fielden. Long stints and dominated the Saints packs. Great yardage, NOW (what have Madge/Waney taught him) able to ride big hits instead of being poleaxed. Possibly best game for Wigan.

3) Martin Gleeson. 2 Tries. Solid as a rock and has formed a fantastic pairing with Daz Goulding. England should select both.

i would of said either sam or gleese i really thought sam would of got it too after he scored and convinced myself even more so the fact i put 20 quid on it!

Totally agreed CP, nevermind the fact that I had a tenner on Sam for Harry Sutherland but both me and me Dad said that Sam Tomkins was a class act last night, he is a 150 percenter and should be Englands no.1 for the Four Nations, as for Glees and Goulding, yep I'd take both of em

I've never been a big fan of Tommy Leuluai but he did step up in the Grand Final and produce an excellent performance his defence was outstanding and the way he took on the line gave Sam that extra space out wide, his kicking game was better but no where near as good as someone like Deacon.

I think Leuluai should make the switch to hooker next season he sometimes plays as if he is a forward anyway, he best attribute is taking on the line and ducking under the defence, plus he won't have to kick as often. We will miss Riddells 'know how' next season though.

i would have gone for Sam too but he has plenty of chances to be MOM in the Grand Final.

just a note how funny was a pi$$ed up Tommy today at the celebrations

Sam was the man of the match by a mile followed by Gleeson , but I`m not complaining we play as a team .

I agree though I do think TL had a very good game and his kicks were not quite as bad as you make out. Sam for me for MoM.

I think the reason Deacon didn't kick was due to his injury a couple of weeks back.

I have to say I thought Deacon would find the play offs too much and too fast but he stepped up and was a key player for us on the night. He compliments Sam and TL really well and I think that is the key.

Frankly, if Eddie hadn't made such an issue of it, hardly anyone would have noticed!

I had called Tommy MOM before the announcement.. I thought he was the one instigating the moving of the ball after the one man rugby spells in some of the sets and kicking aside made some fantastic decisions on the pitch... Pleased for him, but it could have gone to Sam for as many reasons too. Pleased for him
