Kind if incident designed for a video ref not to allow the try if you see what I mean.

I thought the play had gone on long enough for Farrell's earlier involvement not to be significant. Watched the BBC highlights today and the commentators more or less thought that as well.

Could not see what was wrong with it myself, probably a sympathy vote for Stains. I do think if that one had been given then the floodgates may have opened as we'd just hit them with Sam's try minutes before.

Didn't affect the end result though, we're champions!!

I do love saying that.

it was the correct call lockers run round the back which delayed flannery tackling him if he wasn't there then he would of got a better shot at him and not allowed him to slip the ball thats why it was ruled out. As much as i thought he deserved it as he was outstanding yesterday and whenever he has played this season would tackle a train if he had to.

On a re look i thought it harsh, so far back in the play! But at the time we hadn't realised he had sent it upstairs, we were celebrating and kissing strangers all over the joint... Not to worry, Liam learns a lesson and we are Champions!! Win Win!! :)

In those circumstances I always feel that the scoreline affects the decision of the video ref. Wigan had the game won and were winning quite comfortably and as a result I knew it would be disallowed. If the scoreline was reversed I am fairly certin it would have been given.

I must admit I thought Flannery still had a good chance to make the tackle, me thinks it was a video sympathy vote. Try looked good to me :conf:

he did have chance and did make the tackle but he had the chance before he ran round farrell which is where he should of tackled him if he'd of got him at that point then lockers wouldn't of been able to get the ball away as it wasn't a clear shot.

I was more gutted for Faz than bothered about the points at the time. He's had a great season since being harshly sinbinned at Headingley but pretty sure the GF ring will have made up for it. Every single passing play has men running into the line to draw defenders in in a way that when it goes to the screen a lot of tries are disallowed when the offence would not even be given in general play but at least video refs are consistent with obstruction which is more can be said for many things involving refs in the game.
