WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO GANSON ?

Does anyone know what happened to Ganson with the incident with an old lady?. Its gone very quiet, and no news as to what has happened, have the charges been dropped against him.

Doubt the charges have been dropped else we'd have heard. Could well be that the police are preparing their case and these days it can take forever as the CPS won't take it up unless they are convinced of a win.
Either way, I reckon he is finished as a ref, more's the pity!

The Licensing department within the council are still awaiting the report from the hotel - so eveything is still pending and up in the air at the minute

Is that in relation to the Police enquiry? It strikes me that although Licensing will need to be involved as booze surely was, has the Council any say over what is ultimately a Criminal matter?

The police investigation has stalled, due to the evidence not forthcoming from the licensee! i.e information from the said hotel, has it happened on or in the grounds of the hotel.
At the moment the council are reviewing so still out there i'm afraid

Super League referee Steve Ganson will not face any further action following his arrest earlier this year.
The 40-year-old St Helens official was withdrawn from taking charge of the Challenge Cup semi-final between Catalans and Warrington on August 8 after being arrested following an incident outside a hotel.
He did not referee for the rest of the season, but the Crown Prosecution Service have today confirmed that he will not face any further action, while the Rugby Football League say he will resume refereeing next season
