Being a glass half full type of person, thought I would steer away from the negatives!
Quite a tricky one when you have the likes of Trent, Sam, Pat,Faz, Jason Robinson, Brett!!!! Thinking caps on folks

Trent was great for us and Paaaat is one of the greatest overseas players to come to Wigan. along with great young talent like Lokers and the Tomkins Brothers but for me it has to be my idol when i first started watching Wigan. the player who many other who played at the time like Kris Radlinski called the best they ever played with.

Have to agree i dont think this country has produced nor looks likely to produce another player of his calibre.cpwigan wrote:Faz
Had the size and power of a prop and the skill of a halfback, the attitude of a warrior and leadership of a general there were literally no weaknesses in his game, only injuries toward the latter stages of his career. Everyone respected him even the aussies he was and always will be my faveourite player of all time and the first player i think about when asked about the history of rugby league at wigan

I would probably have to say someone from this years squad given what we have achieved, possibly........Pat Richards.
However, someone who individually stood out for us when we weren't all that great has to be Kris Radlinski. Coming out of retirement to keep his hometown team in Super League FOR NOTHING has to give him the best player!
So Radders, 100%!

Steve Renouf as to be taken into account.
It may be worth a overseas best player and a home grown (british) best player

Can we not have a choice of ten please AtoB? Virtually impossible to pick one and probably not much easier to narrow it down to 10 come to think of it as we have had so many impressive players.
I know there have been better players in some respects but I always thought Craig Smith was great and will never forget the Good Friday match against Saints when his knee was giving him grief and he was being half carried half dragged from the field by 2 of the medical staff when Saints made a determined move towards our line, Craig saw what was happening and dragged his two helpers with him as he got back into our defence and helped save what looked like a certain try :eusa2:

Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

For me gotta be andy faz every player respected him and he was a real leader never backed down and was a great player he could play prop,6 or 7 and he's kickin game was unreal like the drop goal v saints from half way or the last minute kick v bradford

Faz undoubtedly but that kind of kills the thread as it is so obvious.
When I saw the thread title I immediately thought it meant players who were signed since we moved to the JJB/DW.
If you look at it like that then that precludes many of the old guard like Faz and so the obvious answer for me after that lot are out of the way is Trent. IMO he almost single handedly made a poorly coached side decent enough to get to semi finals.
Outstanding player who I would have loved to have seen under a coach like Madge in a Wigan team playing like it did in 2010.

Barrett is right up there, but my vote would go to Dave Furner. I don't think he ever got the accolades that he deserved, he was very well respected by team mates and opponents as a real tough competitor.
