Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The biggest surprise for me is Cain Southernwood misses out at no.6 to Gaz O'Brien.
Also i thought Carl Forster would have been one of the props.

Thats a very powerful team, strong across the park. I think Harry Seijka is the player England need to keep an eye on though, he has a good "show and go" so if the defence gets a bit lazy he will carve them up with his speed.

England will probably hold them for 15 minutes then their lack of match play will see them drop off tackles and drop he ball (same old story).

Australia lead 30-18 with 20 minutes to go, for England's sake i hope it dosen't blow out much more.

For anyone who went, can you give an assessment of the game ?

thanks.

Thanks for that, interesting to hear your comments re: Sarsfield, i thought he may have been one of the players who would struggle at that level but happy to hear he played well.
According to Luke Burgess twitter, Jack Hughes got injured early - is that right ?

Englands scorers were Powell(2), King, Bridge, Sarsfield and Thompson.
O'Brien 7 goals.

Not surprised to see Burgess getting a lot of praise - he was outstanding against us in both reserve games.

The game was farcical, destroyed by one Mr Ganson. I actually felt sorry for the Aussies by the end. England played well but conditions were really difficult. Damn cold and constant drizzle. Why was Ganson even given such a game after what has happened to him. We cannot complain about Aus referees when ours do exactly the same and worse.
