If Hicks has been asked to "retire" by Wire, then I'm assuming that they wouldn't have to pay him off or anything. Then Simon Moran pays a large amount in to Hicks' bank account, that will not show up on the salary cap.
A rule for one and a rule for another.

It stinks to high heaven and shows how rotten to the core the Cap is.

Said this when he "so called" retired to make way for Monaghan, knew he would sign for another club.

Con merchants the lot of them. Wire are right up the RFL's a*s* :exc: just because of Tony Smith, who is still an Aussie (even tho he says he's British!!)
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'd rather have an ageing aussie rather than a dog molestorer any day! Plus Hicks still knocks em in over the line doesnt he

If I have got this story right, its a blatant infringement of the 'spirit' of the Salary Cap if not a direct breach of the rules!

This has got to be looked at by the RFL. FFS, Warrington aren't even trying to be discreet any more. Have they forgotten the penalties we incurred? Wouldn't want to live though that again!

Maybe Harrison Hansen should have got jiggy with a dog instead of delaying his payments in 2006 whcih was our 'spirited' breach!

IMO, whatever contract Hicks had signed with Wire should revert to their Cap immediately he rescinded his retirement to sign for Eels.

Didn't we technically breach the cap when Rad came back even though he played for nothing?
