Johns secures Wolves role

Post by josie andrews »

Ex-Warrington Wolves star Andrew Johns is to help with the coaching duties for the club during pre-season.
The former Newcastle Knights and Australia scrum-half had a successful loan spell with the Wolves in 2005 and spent some time coaching the half-backs and kickers pre-season last year.
Head coach Tony Smith is taking the Wolves' squad out to Tenerife for a week at the beginning of January and Johns will again give specialist coaching to the players to prepare them for the Super League season.
Wolves' chief executive Andy Gatcliffe told the Warrington Guardian: "He wants to do it. He enjoyed it so much last year.
"He just bonds with this club, has a real affinity with us and wants to be involved. There were great benefits from the time he spent with young Richie Myler last year.
"But not just Richie, all the players benefited from him guiding them and putting an arm around them.
"It can only be of benefit having him involved again. Who wouldn't want Andrew Johns working with them?

Will this signing/appointment count on the salary cap??

You better not let tony Smith hear you mention salary cap Josie, he will have the RFL after you  along with every RL fan in the country that dare query / criticise Warrington

Fantastic player but I am not sure he is anything special coaching wise. He hires himself out to all and sundry but rarely do teams seem to fare well afterwards.

PFF Andrew Johns. Played most of his career taking drugs. Hope the coach is going to keep an eye on his players.

Well he obviously worked wonders on Myler, wasn't he dropped for the majority of the second half of the season? :)

If I'm correct, lets hope he does more work with rat boy Briers and also a stint at Stains and Whinos

PFF:

The Precast Flooring Federation is a prominent member association of the British Precast Concrete Federation. Our principal objectives are to promote the structural and commercial benefits of precast concrete flooring systems and their proven performance.

PFF members’ products are manufactured under factory controlled conditions to a high standard, giving architects, structural engineers and building contractors the assurance of an engineered floor to meet specific design criteria

or could look it up on the urban dictionary - but i doubt it'd be what that offers
