Hilton 'Park'

Please tell me that Hilton 'worse than knowsley road' shack has to be done up before allowing the royalties of wigan to enter it.
I hope they get the small set of fans that think its funny to throw things at players, sorted. If they don't they're gonna have a lot of problems with points being deducted and other sets of fans getting frustrated.
Am not saying this from a bias point of view, I used to work there and know exactly what some of them are like, I just hope the bunch of wa**ers that turned up for that challenge cup play off 2 years ago, don't make any appearances next year for the sake of the loyal fans.

Back on to the topic though, how can their ground possibly be up to super league standard? Their scoreboard is still run by hand and the stadium holds 8000 people thats without the big screen etc so it must go down a fair bit when they put that in a corner too.

because the first division game was on t.v whoever won today would have been approved. as it wouldnt look good for the rfl to say you won the league table you beat the nearest rivals and you are not comming up into our division cos your not good enough!

But surely their ground isn't good enough!!! I'm nt saying keep them down for that reason, although that would be great :D I'm just saying 8000 is a sh*** capacity for games like wigan leigh, saints leigh games that could be bringing in a lot more fans

I have to agree its a sh**hole and not worthy of superleague. Let them have one season because thats all they'll be in superleague for .

I heard someone on Friday saying that Super League had beena bit hasty in saying Hilton Park was up to scratch. They said something about only 2,000 being allowed in!

Don't know whether that was something to do with the local safety inspectors.

They need a roof for the away end for starters. I've nearly drowned every time i've been there.

Still 4 easy points will be nice and maybe they won't have to threaten to abandon the game next time.

SL's only requirements seem to be 2000 seats, 1000 under cover. Can't see the problem myself, you can fit a few thousand in there, you can't expect a part-time NL1 league to build their own JJB stadium with 35p can you.

Haven's ground is even smaller than Leighs and extremely exposed but they got the RFLs nod too.
