Adrian Lam - Players player of the year.
Just goes to show how much "broadcasters and journalists" really know about the game.
Sculthorpe had another cracking season but Lam played consistently head and shoulders above the rest all in an injury ravaged team.
(in the games I watched anyway!)
Also well done to Terry O'Connor for the most 'Hard Yards'!

It's been said elsewhere but I agree totally that last year Sculthorpe basically carried the Saints team in the long-term absence of key players like Long and probably deserved the award. This year he's not had the same impact on his team, but still he gets the award? Lam did the same job for us particularly in the weeks after the one-off test fiasco as Scully did last year, but the "experts" didn't seem to care. Perhaps the fact he's not British and so needs firing up for an upcoming test series, nor has he recently been a target for Union, may also have been factors against Lam?

After the MOS farce, how about some alternative awards?
Cheat of the year: Millward (for the pre CC final game against the Bulls)
How much money can we throw at the team and still be crap award: Warrington
Most overated import award: Ben "Robbie off Eastenders" Walker
Crappest TV saying: BBC SL Show for the ref putting the "square in the air".
Most intellectual player: Chris "yu know" Joynt
Any other offers?

I think you've got it bang on Fraggle. We go though similar 'politics' for player of the season every year in my local football team.(on a vastly reduced scale of course!!!)
Not all of us hate Union oh-Pie-consuming-one. S'pose I'm lucky to get something out of both codes ...
