Bradford's Gareth Raynor handed two-match ban by RFL
Bradford winger Gareth Raynor has been given a two-match ban after he was sent off in the Bulls' Challenge Cup defeat by Wigan.
The winger had been charged with a Grade B high tackle on Wigan's Sam Tomkins during Bradford's 22-26 fifth-round defeat at Odsal.
He will miss Bradford's home Super League game against Salford on Sunday and the trip to Harlequins on 4 June.
Tomkins was led off with concussion after scoring Wigan's second try.
Raynor, who received the ban after going before the the RFL's disciplinary committee, was issued a red card from referee Steve Ganson for the challenge on Sunday.
Former Leeds, Hull and Crusaders winger Raynor made his rugby league comeback this season with Bradford.
The four-times capped Great Britain international was jailed last May after admitting being behind a fake ink cartridge and computer game scam.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Another display of inconsistancy by the RFL

Re: 2 match ban for Raynor
They charged him with Grade B so couldn't go any higher I suppose that is something.
Grade D is "intentional striking" and his actions weren't intentional more careless. Don't know what grade C is... anyone any ideas?
I just think it is good that they gave him the maximum sentence for it. Anything else would have been a farce.
I think if they had charged him with anything higher he would have got a lesser sentence so better going in low and coming out with best possible conviction.
Still think he should've been given a 3 match ban and a more hefty fine than just £300.

Was a three match ban. Sent off his team was deprived of his services from then and the next two matches. Lucky they did not count that as the first ban and that plus one.
