Hull KR won the game in the last minute

that is one bad bad side!! theres players at amatur that should be in that tram before some of these .. thinks thats why there looking at signing alot from the 16s scolarship... but with tierny, williams, austin, sutton, hampshire, rooney some great players !!

Because the U20's have several players either on loan or dual registration players from the U18's have to move up to fill in the gaps leaving the 18's side short of players, places that are then filled with U16's.

These lads are playing more experienced players & I for one think they are not doing too badly.

If the amateur players you are speaking of are so good, they would already be playing for the Wigan scholarship teams.

Were you at the game today ? I was. KR are unbeaten this season, and it was from the last play of the game that they scored the winning try. Speaking to a KR parent after the game he said that today was the hardest game they have played and that KR players were arguing amoungst themselves as Wigan were pressing them so hard and playing so well. Wigan had problems with team selection before the start, Louis Jackson had a problem with his eye on the way so couldnt play and Shae Lyon Fraser couldnt play the full game because of injury. Matt Crow started at 2nd row and then moved to prop, playing the full 80 mins. 2 mistakes probably cost Wigan the game, all in all it was a great effort from the players. KR supporters were shouting so loud with joy at the end I thought they had won the cup and Grand Final together.

Dont forget when we played KR earlier this season they beat us 54-18, so not a bad improvement for a team of bad players.

I agree with your point, Josie, that this isn't that bad a team. But in fairness, the players the other poster has mentioned are on Wigan's scholarshop books, playing for the current U16s team.

I understand U16s players can't be moved up to join the U18s squad until 1st July. Apparently other teams will be doing the same then - e.g. Stains, who are short of forwards, especially props, at 18s.

theres only carberry greg burke and russ that has moved up there are better players that havent been signed up than some 18s players

I believe a few of the U16's will get a couple of games at U18 level later in the season. They will be "drip fed". Remember on the rumours thread, it's about 15 months ago that I mentioned Wigan were chasing a young Yorkshire player. Ryan Hampshire was the player I was alluding to, and he is a superb prospect. I would expect that he will be one of the current U16's who will get a game or two for the U18's before their season ends.
