Announced on Look North West tonight that he had died due to motor neurone disease.

Sad to die so young. I played against Paul at High School and we were in the same year at Winstanley College. I think the disease is common in his family unfortunately.

Can't quite place him Doc but sincere sympathy and condolences to all his family..what an awful tragedy
he couldn't have been very old...just awful

IIRC he made his debut for Wire v Kevin Iro at Main Road in the CC Semi.

I was at school and then college with Paul, real good guy, I remember him running pretty much every evening in summer at around age 14/15 he was so dedicated (and a monster to beat on our schools cross country course!!)

Also knew Paul at Winstanley, though only slightly. A real tragedy for such a good lad and his family. RIP
