Wigan DVD 2004

Just finished watching it and have to say I'm a bit disappointed with Micron's effort this year: Especially the lack of any action at all from the Challenge Cup run, though obviously I have no desire to relive Saints' irritating victory, surely for the sake of completeness we should have the highlights of a major competition that we got to the final of. Fair enough one game was in France and at least three were on the BBC but that doesn't normally make a difference and I never like it when we see no tries from the opposition at all. I realise the idea is to celebrate Wigan's brilliance but for people like me who are unable to get to more than about 50% of games I look forward to these tapes as a means of getting a picture of games I missed during the year and to see a couple of slick looking moves from Wigan in a match they lost 36-35 or something is neither use nor ornament as a true representation of the season.

I share your opinions Dai, I was a tad dissapointed, you didn't get a proper handle for the the game, it wasn't highlights just a collection of tries. I wanted to see some of the controversy, like Newton's season ending high tackle on Wilkin, Millwards comments and then footage of Wilkin playing two weeks later!

To be honest I thought the DVD was rubbish. Yeah you get to see all our tries, but that would never summarise a full season. A couple of interviews with Denis Betts padded it out a bit, but it was very basic.I'd like to see a more comprehensive, proffesional aproach next year.

By the way, who commentates on the non sky broadcasted games, I'm sure I spoke to him in the Pier one night!

It was really just the seasons tries and not even all of them, was a bit of a let down, i mean it depends if he was up to it, but they could have got an interview with gregory in there as well

I remeber the days when you would get player interviews after every game.
