Next Thursday's Super League Super Men features Sam Tomkins.
Sky Sports 3 9.30pm.
Quite a good program this for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Can't see this endearing him to opposition fans!

Thanks for this.

I enjoy "Super League - Super Men" although I'm not sure where Stuart Cummings fits in to this - last weeks.

I remember everybody hated Alex Murphy (including me when he played for St. Helens) but I still thought he was a fantastic player!
If Sam played for all the teams who "hate him" he would be the most popular player in Super League!

Exactly. Its all down to jealousy but its snowballing out of hand. Read on SLF that Leeds 'fans' are planning to up the intensity on our next visit. Thankfully, it won't be this season!

There have been similar posts on red vee about how they would be happy about Sam getting an career ending injury - how sick is that - I'm all for banter but there is a very nasty small element that worry me :conf:

Probably some Leeds Utd footie fans have switched to rugby and they are the vicious nasty element. They are well known and reviled by other footie teams.

I watched "Super League Super Men" last night (Stuart Cummings) and he said he was refereeing some match when somebody said "I hope Victoria? [his daughter] gets Aids"

How sick is that?

I think this is now the mentality (as said above) by a MINORITY of fans from numerous different clubs. Our old friend Mr Mathers was on Twitter bleeting yesterday, as someone had called his wife some far from complementary names. It's bang out of order, i, like most others on here am all for rivalry and banter, and even the odd spot off banter boo'age. It's getting out of hand though. When ST is hearing things about his family and people wishing career ending injuries. Cummings is hearing things about his daughter dieing of aids, it's crossed a line... A long way past the line. In my opinion, clubs need to start taking responsibility for their fans. If Leeds fans are chanting things about ST's family, treat it the same as racist or homophobic abuse, put the owness on the clubs. It'll soon stop. One things for sure, it can't carry on like this.

As with all these things its a very small minority. Most Saints fans i know all think he's a great player but hate him because he playes for us. They don't really hate him and if they met him in the pub would have a good chat with him.

same with us and Lee Briers. The most hated player in RL but meet him in the club after a kids game and he'll talk to you all day.

Called him rotten at the match, but you had to laugh when he called Siverwood Sir 3 times and then on his return to our end he gave us a clap and a smile.
