Carmont and Richards
I hope i dont sound like im jumping to conclusions after a defeat by the stains but for me carmont and pat are becoming to slow, today there was many of chances for pat and george to go up that wing but there pace would not let them, whats your views on this?

I'm tending to agree with you.
Pat appears to have been off form for the last few weeks it especially showed in his goal kicking (which now seems to have improved again) and his lack of pace when overlaps are created.
It also looks like the toll of the season has caught up with George as he looks really tired and seems to be picking knocks up in every game to have him limping about.
Should have been given a rest against Crusaders as too should quite a few others, 2nd place was already secure so that was an opportunity lost to recharge a few batteries.

Speed has never been their forte. George is at his best when he is given a rest between games and then it is stepping, brains that helps him.
Pat is not fast particularly over short distances; BJB has exposed him twice this season. Over longer distances he is decent.
Throw in Sam being a left and teams are packing their defence on that side of the pitch.
If Joel would try playing like an evasive centre it may also help.
Across the park, we haven't rested players enough this season.

Madge has said after the game that both George and Hoff will be fine, just a couple of knocks. Don't know about Sam though. He looked way off the pace today.....as did George and Pat.
"K"
"But look at, look at Lydon go here...Remniscent of those two great tries when he won the Lance Todd... He's got Hanley inside him. He's going all the way..........."

Even the fastest players will struggle to make yards against a good defense. Wigan moved the ball wide too early and tried to force the play out wide without doing much in the middle of the pitch.
Wigan have become predictable in attack, we are still playing the same game as last season. The rest of Super League has had a year to get used to it. Carmont and Richards would still make it in any of the top Super League sides, its the lack of ideas across the whole team which is the problem.

:eusa2: :eusa2: Well said. We are so predictable in our play and it is almost like if plan A doesn't work then there is no Plan B. Now where have I heard that before? :eusa16:
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Re: Carmont and Richards
Last year Carmont was voted the best centre in the league by many, and Pat was man of steel.
Because of this team have started to pay them some attention and analize them. They put extra players on that wing to stop the long pass from Sam and lockers, then a player with speed to exploit Pats pace.
George is struggling with his knee but as soon as he puts his knee band back in place is ok.
As saints showed yesterday, we need to start looking at pacey young players to exploit the older guys.
Dont follow the kids so dont know whos coming through, but seem to remember us having a good one a couple of years back.
