Why the small attendance?

Can't understand the poor attendance for the game
considering it was Saints.
We usually have 20,00 or more when the Scousers are
in town.Can anyone give an explanation as to why it was
so poor.? :exc: :exc:

Cost is a big factor.

Cost me £35 for an adult and student ticket. Replicate that for all the play off games and also consider families with more kids and it is a lot of money. The prices are set by the RFL by the way.

There should be some better deals, especially for season ticket holders. Me and my lad are in the east. I'm happy to pay an extra £100 for him compared to the south, but then they want £34 for us yesterday.

However for non season ticket holders theres a family deal in the south.

But i dont go with my family so really its stuff you.

Got to be honest I have to say cost for me, I have my season ticket for the east stand and it really irked me to have to pay another £20+ for a ticket, sorry but wont be there for Cats either

It cost me 51 quid for the family - 2 kids 2 adults - and I'd struggle to justify paying that again. 3 family days at the play offs is virtually a season ticket.

Thanks everyone, my question was not a criticism of
anybody for not going to the game,it's just that when
it's Saints you presume it's going to be a bumper
crowd. Also there has been the Challenge Cup in the
last few weeks,and I wouldn't like to make a guess at how
much that cost.As I have said I'm not passing judgement
on anybody for not going,sorry if it seemed that way.

Winky, if it was Good Friday and Boxing Day as of old, you'd be right. But when its the 6th 'derby' in 12 months, the occasion begins to lose some of its magic!

Cost pure and simple. Spent up going to Wembley. RFL who fix the prices are clueless as usual. Some gesture towards season ticket holders would have gone a long way but as usual we are all expected to have bottomless pockets!!

Agree with all that has been said plus you can defo get too much of a good thing. Derbies with Saints used to be the great Good Friday game plus a return at some stage and maybe the odd meeting in a comp but the last couple of years the RFL have flogged it to death (in both respects!) and whilst we still want to despatch them in style at each meeting, for me it has tended to lose that special edge it had
