Tomkins On Aussie Test

Post by josie andrews »

England turn their attentions to Wembley and the Kangaroos in the Gillette Four Nations Tournament this Saturday.

England go into the game on the back of a win over Wales while Australia were narrow winners over the Kiwis at Warrington on Friday.

Not surprisingly the England boys paid close attention to the game at the HJ Stadium and Sam was one of the team that watched the game on TV from the team hotel and said,

"Nothing worried us from what we saw,"

"Both teams played well in patches and they both showed some flaws which we're going to try and exploit next week and the week after.

"They are both quality teams and we'll respect them, but this is the strongest squad I've been involved in and, if we're going to do it, I think now is the time."

On Saturday's game at Wembley, Sam added,

"It's a massive occasion, there is probably nothing better than playing the Aussies there.

"We've not beaten them for how many years now? It's about time we did. We're a growing sport in this country, we're getting there, and it would be massive if we won."

Tickets are still available for the Wembley double header which also includes Wales v Australia, tickets can be bought online at www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
