Kiwi's appeal against suspensions
Kiwi's appeal against suspensions
Just read that Isaac Luke (2 matches) and Jeremy Smith (1 match) have appealead against their suspensions. Are these guys serious?? I hope the RFL throw the book at them and do like happens in football sometimes where they have an extra match added to the ban for a frivalous appeal. Both should have been sent off there and then on Saturday. No excuses whatsoever for Smiths elbow on Sam. And as for Luke's cowardly knee bend on Chase, I've never seen such a sneaky underhand attempt at injuring an opponent, and a 2 match ban isn't enough for such an act in my opinion. That could have snapped Rangi's cruicate, and I for one know what that feels like!
Let's hope the RFL treat their appeals with the contempt they deserve and extend the bans just for the bare faced cheek of appealing against actions that were blatant, and cowardly.

Re: Kiwi's appeal against suspensions
Have you got a link to the international disciplinary results/findings, I had a look at the RFL site but couldn't find it nor on the Gillette4Nations website.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for that. I like to read the disciplinary report every week for Super League, especially the reasons why such and such punishment was given. This is easy to find on RFL.co.uk does anyone know if there is an international equivalent?

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

This makes even more of a mockery of what happened and the useless officiating. As has been said elsewhere, rather than an on report system, it should be handed to the video ref/4th official watching on screen for immediate decision whether (a) penalty sufficient (b) yellow card or (c) red card. I know there is not a VR at every match, but there must be cameras recording, to supply the DVD used by the disciplinary committee, which can be used for immediate playback. If upheld, the suspensions will be carried over into the NRL, where they can be wiped out in official pre-season trial matches.http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-league/ ... 6/7308832/

Smiths should be an 8 match ban, as was given to newton when he re-arranged longs face, just because he didnt hurt sam shouldnt make the punishment any less.
Lukes, i honest feel should be a 2 year ban, i know this would never happen but you could see blatant clean cut attempt to twist the knee, had the planets been aligned that could end someones career it should be a 2 year ban.
If you get 2 years for sniffing some wonder powder you should get 2 years for that

This is the same Rangi Chase that was so incensed by it he was in the Kiwi dressing room post match ?
Yes it was aggressive, but nothing that isn't seen EVERY WEEK in an NRL game - Get over it :doz:

Re: Kiwi's appeal against suspensions
sorry but dont agree with that at all, i see innocent people getting started on in town every week so if someone came and smacked you in the face for now reason would that be ok cos it happens every week?
Chase is his own man and if he is a big enough person to let stuff like that go then fair play to him, but twisting of the knee, intentional twisting of the knee should NOT be tolerated under any circumstances.
I wonder if it was sam and he was out for a season because of it you'd be so understanding? i think not. Just because it didnt injury chase should in no way reduce the punishment as it was a blatent attempt to.
