Wakefield Wildcats fans asked to ‘Prove It’ on turnstiles

Post by josie andrews »

WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats will be taking steps to ensure supporters enter the Rapid Solicitors Stadium using the correct tickets throughout 2012.

The club will be implementing the ‘Prove It’ scheme on stadium turnstiles, targeting supporters that purchase tickets that are not used appropriately.

The scheme is in operation within sporting venues across the country and will involve identification checks if it’s felt a supporter is trying to gain entry into the ground using the wrong ticket.

Wildcats General Manager, Davide Longo, said: “We evaluated the turnstile operations last season and found there to be a few discrepancies with the way that supporters were gaining entry into the stadium using incorrect tickets.

“We are adopting this scheme to ensure that the club continues to maintain and provide a fair service for its fans and supporters.

“This scheme will also be promoted to all the away fans visiting the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

“We’d like to thank supporters for their continued support and if you have questions regarding the scheme please feel free to contact the club on 01924 211611”.

Fans buying concession tickets should be in further education or aged over 60 and be able to provide a valid NUS card for a student or a passport, driving licence, bus pass or any other documentation stating date of birth and photo identification for those over 60.

Junior tickets are for fans aged 16 or under and fans must be able to provide suitable documentation to prove their age.

Any fans that are under 5 years of age are allowed to gain entry into the stadium free of charge.

The scheme will be in operation when the Wildcats take on local rival Castleford Tigers this Sunday, kick-off 3.30pm.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
