I have just watched the Bratfert V Cas. game via Sky.
I do not understand when a goal kick is being taken what the 3 degrees means. I understand, of course, 35 yards.
Am I misunderstanding something?

Taking the kicking point as the centre of a circle(360 degrees),the 3 degrees is the amount of that circle between the uprights,in view from the kicking point.
The nearer to the centre of the posts,the greater the angle available,in other words the greater the target to aim at.
