Would you still follow Wigan if they moved to rugby union?
Yes, another doom and gloom thread.

Of course not. They won't be Wigan RL they'll be Orrell mark 2.

~Yes of course i would and its about time we did that and left RL. We need to stop being so anti union its the future and sorry to say this its union we all wil be watching in 10 years time or less. League is on its last legs.
Its superior in all departments now on field and off.

Having watched the last 10 minutes of Sale's game tonight, in which absolutely nothing happened, and comparing that with the last 10 minutes of our game, if anything our game is getting further ahead. You're either a troll or blind if you think the 2 games at club level are comparable.

A couple of years ago I would have laughed at this comment, now I tend to agree. The amateurism of the RFL is undeniable. Unless we have someone come in to turnround our sport it will be dead.

Of course I am taking the piss.
Just had enough of the bull about the club going downhill. SL standard getting hammered on here and on Rlfans by Wigan fans. Its so depressing and its bloody annoying. I feel some on both boards need to start take prozac or some mind bending drugs to enhance their calm. Seriously we got to 2 semi finals finished top and its the end of the bloody world. I am not having a go at this thread on its own but the umpteenth thread about the club in general. My personal favourite one atm is the Season ticket one on Rlfans. Will i or wont I shall I go to the big games or shall i go to them all.
FFS you support the club get to as many as you can. Its depressing reading atm and to make it worse I am on holiday and have had nothing but depressing reading since we lost to Leeds last Friday.
Ohh we lost Tommy he has gone its over Smith is crap etc its getting lame. Just hoping that the internet crashes soon cause there is sod all on tely and i can get over my addiction of feeling depressed by reading stuff on both forums.
Ok rant over.

Based on your post, it prompted me to write the following email to the RFL:
"I have been a season ticket holder at Wigan for almost thirty years. For the first time ever I am contemplating not renewing my season ticket.
The reason for this is as follows:
Rugby league is run as a minority sport and is now light years behind rugby union in its profile.
The officiating and disciplinary process has become so incompetent and inconsistent as to make the competition a lottery.
The salary cap has achieved the lowering of playing standards whilst still allowing for lesser clubs to constantly flirt with administration.
The youth system (academy teams) are now being dismantled for reasons i do not understand. This initiative will weaken our sport in the long term.
I do not understand the strategy and direction of the RFL at a time when the whole world is facing austere financial measures.
I do not expect a response to my points as I expect little from an organisation who exhibits no leadership, strategy or vision for the future. "
