Just to let everyone know one of the great things we did instore to raise money for our charity of the year, Landgate School.

As you may have heard on Real Radio, on the run up to Halloween we had an instore pumpkin carving competition and customers to voted which was the best one, then auctioned off the great pumpkins to customers. We had over 490 votes and the top 3 were:

1st HR with a brilliant white pumpkin with an axe sticking out of its head

2nd was Clothing with a great Lady Gaga style pumpkin

3rd was Bakery with a hungover pumpkin!

I want to wish a congratulations to everyone who voted or created the pumpkins we managed to raise over £60 so thank you all very much!

Picture of the winning pumpkins and more details off what great things we are upto are on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/SainsburysWiganCharity

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

All the kids really enjoyed helping our customers and are extremely greatful for all your brilliant donations, they will go a very long way in helping the school get a much needed sensory room!. So thank you once again if you came down and met the kids and they helped you pack your bags, we are still counting up how much you all raised and i'll post again when i know the final total!

On the 22nd of November our charity of the year Landgate school visited our store to help pack bags and raised money to help build their Sensory room. They were instore most of the day and the kids absolutely loved the experience and meeting lots of our customers, in total they managed to raise over £250. SO thank you very very much to everyone involved if you donated or came in and met the kids.

We are looking for a dogs home or charity for a donation station instore. So customers can donate cans of dog food. We looked at Guide dogs for the blind but the dogs are on a strict diet, so any help finding that would be brilliant?
