Doesn't seem like a strong squad at all to me, don't want to dwell on the past but compared to last years squad or other teams', it doesn't look threatening. Expected a few more signings, e.g. Centre, Prop

Surely by putting Faz at 12 and Gaz Hock at 14 is pushing Gaz Hock towards the exit door.
If it were me in the squad thats how I would be thinking.
I know Faz is a good back row forward, but IMO there is no better second rower in SL and possibly even NRL than Gaz Hock.
There has been numerous rumours out there regarding GH's exit to the EEls (Australia), his squables in training, but at this moment is it still just all rumours.
Surely by putting Gaz at 14 suggests now that there are issues with him as a Wigan player.
I know that I wouldnt be happy dropping from 12 to 14.

I believe SW has seen the light and will play Hock off the bench.

Not a problem for Hock, I am sure he will start more than being a substitute. When was the last time we have 1-13 on the pitch with the squad number.

We seem a bit light and just hope that Green and Smith can quickly get it together or we may be screwed

That squad has too many compromises in it.

Hughes at 4. I really rate this lad in the 2nd row but not at centre.

Faz at 12. He's a 13 really but while he isn't going to get a game there with Lockers around that doesn't make him a starting 12.

Lauaki at 8. Just not good enough to lead the pack.

Can't say I am convinced with Hock at 14 either. I am sure I saw it posted on another thread someone said if he comes off the bench he will feel pressured to delivering there and then which may mean lots of errors. If so I agree.

Or 14 for him could mean interchange prop which would be a sad misuse of his talent.

As A&L said we also need Smith and Green to gel and get up to speed or that could cause problems. I will look forward to watching Green. He has a high regard with the HKR fans but I hope I am not clutching at straws that the relative unknown is George MkII.

I bet some of the Leeds supporters said the same when their club elevated Calderwood, Walker, McGuire, Burrow, Bailey, Diskin, Jones Buchannon, Sinfield all at the same time. Time that supporters accepted that some of the excessive number of oversea's players were only signed as a interim measure while the club produced more of our own quality players.
