Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Who votes for this? Are they honestly saying that he's had a better season than all the Aussie NRL players as well as the Superleague players? It's an absolute joke.

Probably compensation for missing out on the long overdue knighthood. Must be worth a punt for a Nobel Prize later this year!

In all seriousness this is a bad day and has basically rubbished the golden boot award in the same way that the MoS award was ruined by roby winning it for his bench warming antics.

Sinfield is a decent player BUT shouldnt the best player in the world award go to the best player in the world?. FWIW i dont think Sam should of won it either. Cam Smith would walk into ANY team, as probably would Cooper Cronk. I cant see any NRL team in the top 6 that would make waves for Sinfield

Very sad. Australia are not interested, particularly after major backers like Adidas stopped spnsoring the award. RL media is Yorkshire dominated, it is basically Yorkshire. Drake IIRC is a Bradfordian who jumped on the RLSA bandwagon and then the pro media which lets face it is non existent in RL. The weekly is similarly Yorkshire dominated and equally stupid.

Kevin Sinfield is a tremendous pro, seems like a great bloke too BUT internationally does he even justify a starting spot? He is not a magical player. The award is an insult to Harry Edgar the creator of Open Rugby, driving force behind the award and farcical when Slater offers the magical worlds best or alternative Cam Smith offers the ultimate gameplayer. Which is worth more Queensland dominating Origin year after year or Leeds winning mediocre SL.

'The British RL Media' are a disgrace. I feel sorry for Sinfield who must be

In Sinfield's defence, he was the driving force behind Leeds at the end of the 2012 season and a major reason in why they got to the GF again. His control of some of those play off games was immense and as many have said, he's a model professional and all round nice bloke.

BUT

Yet again, the RL appear to be giving awards based on a handful of games. He wasn't Leeds' player of the year nor was he MOS yet he's supposedly the best player in the world.
My view is that Cam Smith, Inglis, Slater would all be in the starting line up for any rugby league team, including international teams and I'm not sure Sinfield would be in the starting line up for all SL teams, let alone the NRL or International's.
We could all debate this but even Sinfield knows he's nowhere near the best player in the world, there are 20-30 players ahead of him.
All a bit silly………..rather like RL in the UK at the moment.
