Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Ratio of plastic to people!

After watching the 2 sky matches this weekend my oh my wot does empty stadiums do for this great game of ours!??

Embarrassing to say the least even to show the games "live"!If this is all who bother to turn up much less viewers turning in to look at "Seas of plastic" in each stand. Stands behind the goal all empty, players scoring a try in front of no-one!!

Wish I was plastic seat manufacturer when all these new Rl stadiums came about I would be mega rich now!

Mentioned in past posts taking the game to Man City's ground is all wrong when ratio of plastic to people is huge

Cut one's cloth to suit the pattern, less capacities keep the "live" cameras away!?

Has one noticed the number of plastic seats that watch the Challenge Cup final over the last few years even our own one when we played Leeds?.

RL World Cup at Wembley is big big mistake as well?

Nothing much the clubs could actually do about it. They were dragged in viz the Taylor Report and licensing at a time when clubs had the money to spend on infrastructure rather than simply on players wages as Widnes did in the 90's that saw them lose Naughton Park

I've seen plenty of football matches (especially lower league ones) with plenty of plastic on show - what is your issue?

More to do with less people going to away games than what it has to do with 'plastic'

I think there are several valid points here but the attendances are only going to get worse if something is not done now about the exodus of too many of our great players to the RFU and NRL.
I cannot understand the mentality of Mike Stevenson who constantly says that he is happy, indeed enthusiastic for our good and great players to transfer to the NRL as in his opinion this will mean a stronger national team in the long run. I for one do not want to watch on a weekly basis, what will in effect be no longer be a SuperLeague but merely an enhanced Championship with only a few chances to see our home grown talent in international matches. Stevo’ in my opinion clearly has an hidden agenda here.
If players are attracted solely by the money, then pay them more money, amend the cap and provide dispensation for great players. Pay bonus for indigenous talent reared and nurtured by our home clubs. Marquee/star players must be cajoled, induced, bribed whatever it takes to keep them here. Whilst I am as patriotic as the next person my sense of parochialism is stronger. Action is needed now!
