Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah would not comment about Tomkins, but it is understood part of the agreement with his release from Wigan is they play a part in the announcement
Which lessens what exactly?

The thing is, all parties are playing The Game
The deal may be done but obviously Sam won't make it public until Wigan/ NZ Warriors officially announce it. Now we will start to get people worrying why Wigan aren't saying anything, IL will when it's convenient for him, not NZW.
The waiting game has begun for details.

I'm disappointed & gutted that he hasn't at least seen the third year of his five year contract out.
I just hope he has made the right decision & wish him luck

And if true, then I hope IL has looked after Wigan's best interests to re-sign him back, in time, after his NZW contract.

Sam went a while back. The NZ Warriors have been wanting to announce it BUT IL/Wigan have kept refusing until after the CC Final.

and that's a point isn't it?
If Wigan decide to play silly buggers with the fans and sponsors and treat them like idiots then nothing will be announced by them until some positive spin can be placed on the entire saga (which could mean at the end of the season). The Aussie press IS announcing as DONE DEAL just awaiting Wigan to formally announce it first

Maybe he wont comment on it because so far its all bullshit, it's lazy journalism saying they refused to comment as part of an agreement because it means they don't have to back up their allegations.
Yes it's more than likely he'll go so any claim about the move will be eventually right. Just ignore it and look forward to Monday which is our priority

Of course Monday is priority but this to us fans who pay is news and a discussion about how the club handles news is very popular. Sam won't be worried about these press 'rumours' he's a professional and will probably score a try and MOM come 10pm Monday (I hope). The players may have known a while according to some so to be honest no actual harm has been done to anyone
