Drew with HKR last week, beaten by Widnes tonight.
I can only assume Baloo hasn't managed to bring his team down from the euphoria of beating the Champions first time out?
Widnes 22 - 20 Huddersfield
Re: Widnes 22 - 20 Huddersfield
I won £5 on this match, had a feeling Widnes would turn them over
Re: Widnes 22 - 20 Huddersfield
It's slightly disturbing in a way. Cas have won 3 out of 3 and now Widnes turn over Hudds who should have taken us to the cleaners. Two teams we normally expect to pick up points form are in very good form.
I know you can't extrapolate this result to mean Widnes are favourites to beat us but we had better not play like we did v Hudds v them or Cas.

The Hudds game has been compared to Catalan away last season, all about avoiding injury before a big game. Not a good way to play but something we'll have to get use to

Plus, Huddersfield were on fire against us. They could do no wrong that night!Kaii wrote:The Hudds game has been compared to Catalan away last season, all about avoiding injury before a big game. Not a good way to play but something we'll have to get use to
Re: Widnes 22 - 20 Huddersfield
It was clear watching the Huddersfield game, that it was being treated as "A game that we had to get out of the way before we went to Australia" The selection told us that, The fact that Mickey Mac came on for 10 mins and then went off again. Coupled with the fact that Huddersfield came to do a job, and did it well.
Widnes are one of a couple of sides (Cas being another) who have recruited well in the off season, not making massive big name signings but flying under the rader bringing in experienced heads who are capable of doing a job, and underestimate them at your peril. This result goes to show that Whatever they're calling the Halton stadium these days is not going to be an easy trip and certainly not somewhere we can use as a rest week for the big names as we have done in the last 2 seasons.

It does seem that nobody would like to be relegated this year doesn't it (apart from London and catalans)

Plus the fact that the Wigan had not gelled and players heads were on the plane to Australia.Kittwazzer wrote:Plus, Huddersfield were on fire against us.
