SORT IT MO!

Post by Joanne2809 »

Right now is the time to get some players bought, the Huddersfield pack were too big and strong for our young lads !! We need players and quick otherwise we may aswell kiss this season goodbye !!!

I admire the young lads and think they have excellent potential, but we need some experience and some bigger lads !!!!

Get it sorted Mo, and I am not hopeful for Leeds game next week, looked like Denis was gonna kick some a** at full time, which I think he should, we werent good enough...too many missed tackles !

COME ON LADS !!!!!!!

ps Missed O'Loughlin tonight and Newton !!!!!

He should start by kicking himself for making stupid comments before the game about showing a bit of arrogance or whatever it was he said.

We are in no position to be arrogant with the playing staff we have available.

It is 100% effort every game that is required not arrogance.

We managed to put the effort in against Saints and Hull but Huddersfield are nothing special and we were never in the game.

Apart from this thread I notice the other active threads are having a discussion about Sculthorpes diabetes and what some young player looks like and Newton being vice captain.

I detect people are avoiding the issue and would rather not talk about the game!

I thought we had 38mins in the 1st half of good defence. And 10mins good attacking at the end of the 2nd half.

I was very unhappy at the missed tackle count and i thought again that Kleins ability was obvious, he was awful again

but don't you find that wigan have done this for a couple of seasons now where they seem to put a great amount of effort on the the big teams then on the smaller teams struggle, wigan should be putting these lesser teams away but don't, as with london and wakefield and if you look for the last three times wigan have not won at huddersfield when really we should have.

i don't think it's a question of size, talent or fitness, i think it's a question of mental attitude, maybe thinking we've beat st helens and hull so huddersfield will be a walkover and then turning up on the field and getting blown away.

Give Huddersfield some credit - two of their tries were very well worked. The interception was only made into a score because Rads was chasing the (pathetic) kick, and the other one was never a try - he was held up.

MOM for me was Jerry Seeyou - and that "high" tackle he was reported for was over the shoulder - perfectly legal and should have been a dropout. Funny how none of the officials saw Tickle being kicked in the whatsits off the ball!

Don't know why this post started another thread then, deleted it and put it in its place again. Sorry about that!

Disgrace to rugby league. SeuSeu did not tackle him around the head, he only just managed to hit his back, he took away the limelight from a good hard tackle which we should have a lot more of in our game and the fact that they would have had to drop out, he also deliberately tried to get SeuSeu sent off. Glad this incident is in report actually because maybe the RFL will actually see the truth in it and it will be turned around and he will face disciplinary action instead.

I thought there "well worked" tries were telegraphed to be honest and showed us up for inexperience. Godwin was caught out by the same trick twice as well.

Huddersfield are an average side but the problem is Wigan were worse than average. If it had been 24-0 we could not have complained given our non-existent attack. We only scored because they eased up at the end.

I suppose I expected better given the way they played against Saints and Hull but Newton out (with upset tummy!) was one injury too many.

We have lost Davico, Farrell, Hock, O'Loughlin, Moran, Carney, Sculthorpe and Newton from our pre season squad and only brought in Guisett so I guess we should be thankful of those wins and not too surprised to lose to sides like Huddersfield.

Mind you I can't understand why Betts does not play one of Prescott or Hargreaves against big sides like that and neither can I understand a game plan of driving it up the middle when we only have one specialist prop on the field.

I have been saying it for weeks but the pack needs all the help it can get and this should have meant tonight Seu Seu, Guisett and Hargreaves (bench) as props and Wilde in the pack with Aspwinall in the centre not on the wing.

When Sculthrope is fit I'd still play Hargreaves and drop Guisett to his natural second row position alongside Tickle.

Not forgetting we lost Lam, Cassidy, O'Connor, M.Smith, C.Smith, Robinson and Connolly last season and only gained Vaealiki, Seuseu, Moran, Guissett and (the ill-fated) Davico.

I totally agree. Glad this incident is to be looked at as Seuseu's tackle was perfectly legit, but Paul Reilly went down deliberately like a soft football tart to try to get Jerry penalised. Reilly should get a place at RADA with acting like that.

It wasn't the only occasion in the match when Huddersfield deliberately engineered matters to get Wigan penalised. At least twice they ripped the ball out and we got penalised for knock on.

After the supreme effort of the Easter fixtures I really didn't expect the lads to come away with a win last night, but I don't think it's sour grapes to say Huddersfield's tactics stank. And if refs like Ashley Klein are going to be sucked in by them god help us.
