Sarge still a work in progress

His defence is still too grabby to play centre v quality opposition.

Have to agree. He lacks both physical size and strength for centre IMO.

I think his youth and lack of experience means he is slow to react because he is unsure what to do in terms of coming on or holding and drifting and that he becomes a tad akin to a speed bump in contact.

Just cost another try through not making his contact 'stick' (at least I think it was Sarge not Budgie)

People cry about it but Hughes OR Hughes / Bateman interchanging are better defenders at centre.

Not impressed.

And why, when we have the production line we have, do we sign "work(s) in progress" from anyone?

Not a centre and isn't a team player in that position.
He Infrequently passes, and is poor in defence in that position
Sarg is a winger.
How we miss George.
Jack hughes is more suited to centre than this bloke.

We need to see if anybody will release a center or get one on loan because we are severely weak without Thornley who IMO would have made at least two of them missed tackles.
Sarginson is poor defensively, however Thornley let Lomax skip round him for fun last week before he injured himself. He isn't the shining example of a safe defender.
Disappointed with Goulding this season. He looks a shadow of the player we've seen for the last couple of seasons.
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."
