at the RLFC hearing!
I fear he will be hung out to dry and our club need to stand tall and fight for a fair hearing. Nobody is arguing Ben is not guilty but so to is LH and the suspensions should reflect that both are equally guilty.

Ben is being fed to the wolves
You can tell IL has never played sport in his life

Don't be silly. FLower can't deny what he did and neither can the club on his behalf. That is all IL is saying.
The only thing they can do is plead mitigation given LH's elbow in the hope the ban is not OTT.
Just what else to expect the club to do?

I agree with you Dave.
IL has to show a bit of common sense here. He can say what he wants on TV its more important what he does tomorrow behind close doors.
He did not mention the Elbow by LH. I bet tomorrow it will be mentioned.

The ban will be the maximum. Wigan will not IMO offer any mitigation.

TBH, if someone came to me after this and said: "yeah but he started it" I think i'd be inclined to give him a bigger ban then if he said "its entirely my responsibility, i was wrong i accept full responsibility" etc.
Arguing hard may well just get a bigger ban than showing remorse and responsibility.

It's quite simple for me:-
Flower 'What I did was completely wrong and I deserved the sending off. The first punch was bad enough as retaliation but the second was inexcusable and indefensible. My Punches however were reactionary to an earlier incident and were not an unprovoked attack.'

How many sports disciplinary hearings have you been in Mike? If you do not 'fight' hard at such meetings you get absolutely hammered.

It was one of the showpieces of Rugby League, Ben couldn't have done at a worse time. I'm afraid that the RL will want to make an example of him to show that they are tough. Let's hope that they take LH conduct into consideration and they don't really go OTT.

Again this is another inconsistency, it shouldn't matter whether it was the GF or the 3rd round of the CC at London Scholars, the punishment should be the same!!
It's like getting longer for Murder because one was commited at a nightclub and the other on top of an isolated mountain!!
