where's the rumour come from? credible source or fan mutterings?

Furner had a spell at charge of Canberra in the NRL didn't he and that didn't go too well with a lot of talent at his disposal. Only one decnet run of form in the closing rounds of 2012 saved it from being a complete disaster if I'm right, and wasn't it whilst he was there that there started to be off field problems with players like Ferguson and Dugan too. Fans were always calling for him to be sacked despite him being a favourite as a player.

Waney will stay.

SW has a better record as coach than Furner anyway.
If we ever want a new coach and we went for an Aussie I'd hope we'd get someone with a better coaching record than David Furner.

Don't like this rumour one bit!

2 boxes ticked, available and probably cheap.

Only time will tell. As has been said, everyone wants SW to succeed. Let's hope it is just a blip and things turn themselves around.

Oh, and if he thinks before he speaks a bit more. Was looking over the Cas site on RL Fans briefly and there were a few user footers with some of his quotes against them, with resulting scores. Sets himself and Wigan up big time.

People know my feelings on SW he Bleeds Wigan although imo not the man to take us forward. After saying that he's twice the coach of Furner. Not going to happen.

That's the qualification for being a fan, not a coach.

That was my initial thought, not exactly a like for like comparison. SW has a 0-2 record against NRL sides.

If true, it will not go down well with Andy Farrell!
