Struggling with this comment though
"Dom can do things which Josh can't. I'm a big fan of his."

Good player Dom but I reckon him and Gelling are going to have their hands full this week.
Joel Moon and the WBW seem a bit of a daunting prospect.

I know SW is just trying to boost Manfredi and tell the world that we can replace Josh in the short term but that kind of statement just makes me wince.

Exactly, all well and good to big someone up (he did well at Magic against them), but not at JC's expense.
Does he not like him? Not the first time.

Hmm, thats what occurs to me. JC doesn't seem to be Wane's favourite player. He certainly doesn't go out of his way to not criticise or make negative comments about Josh in the media anyway. Maybe thats what it takes to get the best out of Josh. Can't see it myself though.

Also wonder if it affected him having DG frozen out and transferred. Can't have been nice. He didn't once try a kiss a daughter, did he?

All for boosting Dom Manfredi but never by criticizing the player he is replacing. I even struggle to see what Manfredi can do that Charnley cannot albeit I do not think Manfredi will not let anybody down. For me it is another example of a coach having favourites. Sam Powell is another that can do no wrong.

If he was in a normal working environment, SW would be treated as a bit of a numpty I'm afraid.

I think that he needs to take some lessons from the great managers in sport or we need a media manager to oversee the process.

If he feels that he needs to motivate JC by making negative comments about him then that should be done behind closed doors. If he wishes to big Dom up that is fine but not at the expense of another player. Given the situation we are in, Waney should be deploying a siege mentality.
