Sinfield

Sky sports reporting he will leave Leeds at the end of the season to join Union side Leeds Carnegie.

Didn't expect that one in fairness.

Mixed opinions of this.

seem like a blow to league as he is a high profile player no matter what people personal opinions on him are.

on the other note, hes getting old, and if it allows him to earn money for a few more years good on him.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

I always thought that he'd be fast-tracked up through the referees grading system. There ought to be some ex-players on the list, surely.

He is 34 and has got an 18 month deal with the Union outfit who are a not a Premiership club.

It's a retirement package.

I am sure the likes Cas or Wakey would have taken him given the opportunity but at 34 I think anyone would question a top side signing him for 18 months unless it was as a player/coach and even then I am not sure that would be a goer.

Not sure where he will play though in Union. Can't imagine he'd be fast enough for the centres and can't see him as a forward or half back.

Well according to the Union people I know that (along with just about every other position you can think of...) is such a specialist position in Union, League players won't adapt. :doz:

Yeah because you have to go against any natural rugby playing thought and just hoof it out of play at the earliest convenience.

I think kevin sinfield personifies average, if it werent for his kicking he would never have made it this far, hes too big to be a half back, too small to be a proper ball playing loose - he is just pretty good at everything but with a excellent kicking ability

The money will possibly come from the same source as his Rhinos deals too.

Leeds are currently being challenged re so many players going to Championship clubs like Hunslet for 12 months on permanent deals (so called) then being re-signed by Leeds.
