Looking at the table, Wire are pretty much guaranteed to be 6th, in which case those are our fixtures.

I don't understand how or why they came up with the fixtures. Why not have top 4 teams who finish in odd position play evens at home and odds away? Vice versa for 5th to 8th? Simple and fair, I'd have thought.

Glad we don't get Catalans away, though.

Given the league table Wire can't overtake Cas even if they beat them so you could argue this is a dead rubber but as points carry over into the super 8's it isn't really as an extra 2 points for either team will give them a better chance of a top four finish at the end of the super 8's.

So that is a plus point for the format.

However I have a feeling that unless Hull and Les Cats find some instant and great form they could be in with no realistic chance of a top four place after two rounds of the super 8's.

What that means for crowds and for teams playing them if their season is effectively over we will have to wait and see.

Depending how the results pan out the super 8's could be a huge waste of time with the top four nailed on very early.

You can also get say a team in 3rd playing another team fighting for top 4 which is a real battle as oposed to a team in 4th playing a team in 8th position with no hope of top 4 finjsh.
The second option you may say the 8th position team won't put up the performance so 4th spot team gets the points overtaking 3rd position team if they loose.

Then you bring this seasons team placings into the equation amd Stains and Whinos have to go to Catalan if they finish 8th which could be huge banana skin and catalans could be pushing for a top 4 slot depending on other results

Going to sound really daft here.

Have we gone deliberately for 3rd spot.

Instead of playing Saints, Leeds or Wire always tough home have we gone we can win the 4 home games we now have given they are easier home than getting Leeds or Saints at home. Which if we are not playing well we could lose.

Us against Saints or Leeds home or away is a 50/50 game. All the others we would beat home but struggle away. Has Wane seen something and this could be the reason for us going poor to very good when we need to.

Looking at it we have got 8 home points if we play anything like we can. If we played Leeds or Saints risk is 6 and given teams are harder away especially Catalan and Cas has Wane pulled a fast one.

I know it sounds stupid but our home games are a lot easier than Leeds or Saints get seeing we go to them.

Could be only a few games and 5th to 8th positions may have nothing to play for but pride
