RIP Terry Newton on the fifth anniversary of his sad & untimely death ????

God Bless ????????x
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Amen to that, still can't believe it happened and expect to see him chatting to someone outside the pub every time I pass it.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Can't believe it's 5 years ago. What a waste.

Fifth anniversary of Terry Newton’s untimely death

1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem this year

What is your state of mind?

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the untimely death of former Wigan and Great Britain player Terry Newton who took his own life.

Partly in response to the issues raised by Terry’s death, the RFL created the State of Mind campaign to help all of us think more about those suffering from mental illness. 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in the UK each year.

If you would like more information about the campaign and how you can use the tips and help available go to www.stateofmindrugby.com

State of Mind think about all people who have been bereaved in such tragic circumstances and the impact this can have on families, friends and communities.

State of Mind continue to deliver education sessions and strive to improve the mental fitness of all those involved in rugby league and sport in general

24 hour support is available for a range of issues that we all face in life and click on the link if you think you know anyone who may need help rugbyleague.stateofmindsport.org/areas/a-24-hour-helpline/

Our thoughts and well wishes are with Terry’s family and friends as they remember a man who gave his all for whichever team he played for and loved the game of Rugby League. Rest in peace Tez.

You were one of the best in the game Terry.
Gone, but never forgotten. You were looking down on us when we beat Staines in the GF five years ago....would be great if you could do it again this year....
RIP
