I was speaking to a Leeds fan on the train into work this morning and he says that he was in Samuel Platts before the game and saw a Wigan fan grab a Leeds woman by the throat and punch her in face. Does anyone know much about this, he was also whinging about it being very busy and people spilling beer everywhere, not sure what he was expecting!
I found it really strange as I was in the Leeds end for the match and didn't see a hint of trouble all day!

I know there was a mass brawl in there between wigan and leeds before the game as the telegraph has a video of it which is a shame as there was 74 thousand fans there and they report on 20 idiots ,we went to the pre match party at Victoria warehouse and had a great laugh with the leeds fans , sam plats is a pub we stay away from as there was trouble last year against saints , its low lifes like them who will get the kick off time changed to 12 o'clock because they cant behave.

We walked down to the Trafford Hall hotel which was shut but there was a converted trailer outside where we had a few beers with the Leeds (and others) fans, and had a great time.
It only takes a few idiots to spoil it for everyone!

I think you will find like many other big Rugby League occasions, you will find that any trouble is caused is more than likely by football supporters, especially like on Saturday, the big clubs like Manchester City/United and Leeds United had no games due to Internationals taking place.
But, if trouble does occur at any Rugby League game, it becomes headline news in the media.

ive seen the video, notably you can see a leeds fan cowering behind a wheely bin full of cans and bottles picking them out and lobbing them then hiding again
we actually went to sam platts first but it was really busy so we walked down to the premier inn which was full of leeds and wigan fans having some good banter, sing off's etc

We were at the Tollgate before the game. A Leeds fan was stood on a stool leading the singing. Never heard the song before but it involved him and his 'choir' stripping down to boxers and at a strategic point taking them down to the ankles and standing naked.
Fair play to the 'choir' who were all well ripped lads in their 20s. Their leader however was 50, bald and his belly had its own postcode!????????

Typical behaviour of Leeds United supporters, as anyone who has been to a football match at Elland Road, especially in their glory years will tell you.
The one who ran on the pitch could be one of them!

I would have a guess at it being football supporters rather than true Rugby League supporters ( i can vouche for the hatred between the two having been in it in the 70,s )
especially Leeds in Manchester
There was a few Leeds fans infront of us in the Alex Ferguson stand who where well behaved apart from one idiot who was soon told to shut up , which he did

Whelley you've made an assumption there. You moan about the press/media and then emulate them!!

If it is a assumption, perhaps you have a opinion on the cause of the trouble then?
