In a way i feel some sympathy for Betts. Carney, Guisett, Sculthorpe made big big errors and got punished.PorterjohLam posted:
I write after tonight. Ladies and Gentlemen of the board, we mostly all support Wigan Warriors. We're supposed to have good young players. We most certainly do...(See u21's record). However tonight, Betts said himself, we have our strongest side out.
We lost. This to me exemplifies the uselessness of Denis Betts as a Head Coach. I did support him, and I still support the players, but tonight's made my mind up.
No more excuses.
Yes he is not a popular person but he is the best coach the SL has had and that is what we need. He gets good performances from average players. Look at the likes of Gardner, Hooper and the not so big pack he has almost always played with. He is the obvious choice and if you do not support the team due to Millward coming in then sorry you do not Care about the team and hate Millward more than you actually care for the team.wateva posted:

To be honest he needs to go more than Betts does. Unroftuantely we need to change things or sooner rather than later well end up in the bottom 2GeoffN posted:
Betts doesn't miss tackles or drop passes. Yes, the second half was as awful as the first was brilliant, but that's down to the players, not the coach.
If you want to point the finger at any of the coaching staff, it was our defensive display in the second half that cost us the game - that's Farrar, not Betts.
The way i see it its a choice o the lesser of 2 evils either change the coach or we are going to end up a relegation fight and if that means brining in Ian Millward then id be happpy to have him.PorterjohLam posted:
At the end of the day also Betts is top man- so he's accountable if anything goes wrong. He should know that. Farrar's a joke too, no idea why he was brought in.
First half wasnt brilliant at all, after recent performances I can see why you said that, all we did was complete our sets and scored 2 opportunist tries, completing your sets is not brilliant, its doing the basics right, at this level you expect players to do the basics, but we are not so when we do people say it was great rugby league, which it isnt.GeoffN posted:

Most of us here do stick by them. But this is the only place some will let rip id rather do it here than at the JJB. We need to support the team at all times when they play.Tom_McCooey posted:
This is my first post on this forum, even though I've been reading it since the start of this season. This is, however, the first time I have felt the need to post.
Like most of us, I have been a die-hard Wigan fanatic for as long as I can remember. (The frst game I went to was Wigan v Manly when I was a week old.) and, like all of us I bleed cherry and white. I am, however very upset this season, for the same reasons I was in 1997. I know something has to change because I'm sure you'd all agree that we were a different team in the second half today, which has been the case for a lot of games this season, but I just want to say that whatever happens, we can't stop supporting the side. Even if the extreme happens and we are in a relegation fight, the team needs us, Good Friday proved we do make a difference. No matter how annoyed or upset I get with our results, or the rest of us, we still need to stick by Wigan. We did when we were relegated, all be it, before I was around and even if people don't like the changes that might take place, ie losing Farrell, possibility of Millie coming in etc, we must stick by Wigan, after all rugby is the meaning of life.
