The RFL have confirmed that referee Chris Leatherbarrow has died, at the tragically young age of 26.
Leatherbarrow leaves a wife and infant daughter behind, with the details of his passing yet to be confirmed.

Jeepers. Very sad but the big ? is how / why he died? I thought the RFL check players now medically. Do match officials get the same treatment or ignored?

We don't know the details yet so it is better not to speculate at this time IMO

I've deleted a couple of replies because of the speculation as to cause of death.
The fact is, we don't know yet!
Lets just keep replies to sending messages of condolence please.
