Sarge can pass BUT

Post by cpwigan »

We need to shift our attack more to the right where his left to right passing is 100% better than his left to right efforts. He threw a couple of gems tonight.

He threw a couple of Lockers style passes tonight, funny what happens when you announce your leaving. Same as Josh's goal kicking.

Please Matty Smith pretend your leaving....

He doesn't know where the touch line is!

He accidentally had his foot on the line in defence when he caught the ball and it should have been our head and feed, guess what Hicks ignored it and they scored a try!!

There were numerous things that hicks chose to ignore or pick out to punish Wigan last night in that first 25 minutes, it resulted in points on the board for wire and the damage was already done by then. How many times did Cummings disagree with or cast doubt on hicks decisions?
I've said it on here many times, and I'll stick by it, he's a St Helens fan who does his utmost to unravel Wigan.
Can anyone remember the day Bentham broke his leg and the touch judge came on to officiate as referee.
Prior to Bentham breaking his leg, Wigan were clear ahead, allowed to play their natural game by fair refereeing, yet when he went off we had a new referee allowing Hull KR to slow the PTB down, penalising Wigan when they were deemed to slow the PTB down with a match that the referee almost controlled for a Hull KR win when they were down and out before Bentham left the pitch. That replacement referee was Robert hicks.
He again afforded the opposition points on the board last night through his choice of decisions.
Hicks makes my blood boil every time he officiates in a Wigan game.

You can't really blame the ref for that. Players who want to take advantage of that rule make the act of making the ball dead obvious buy an exaggerated step over the line so the ref can't miss it.

It is embarrassing that Cummings keep seeing clear mistakes when as an ol referee his gut instinct is the opposite. Last nights match officials made several blunders. Faz sin binning was fine. Truth be told I think Faz knew exactly what he was doing as payback for two player illegally attacking Manfredi as he was scoring. IIRC, one of those two was Ratchford. Sin bin Faz, sin bin a Wire, two 8 pointers. The Sarge in touch whilst stupid on his part was a fundamental error by the officials.

Most referees will request the VR to oversee a questionable action. Why didn't hicks request to re-look at the touchline as he knew there was some contention with his decision. Hicks chose not to because he knew what the outcome would be, head and feed to Wigan and he clearly wanted to give advantage to Warrington.

Maybe he did but Sarge made the job easier for him. Widnes got a couple of these v us at the DW and both times the player looked like he was attempting the splits as he made the ball dead (I exaggerate but you get the point). Sarge should have done the same. As TBW said Sarge accidentally had his foot there so I am guessing it didn't even cross his mind he could have deliberately made the ball dead.

He also gave head and feed to Wire early on for a knock on against us when it was a clear ball strip, they scored from that as well!!
