Not enjoying League.

To be honest I switchjed Cas v Salford off 3/4 the way through. It was a struggle to watch a game lacking so much quality. The highlight for me was pre match with the reception in memory of Roger Millward (RIP) Might take a break as I am just not enjoying league in 2016.

I thought the commentary was very biased towards Castleford as well as the VR!!
The try from Solomna I think it was, he never even grounded the ball & the VR said he couldn't see anything to overturn the on field decision of a try!!
What a load of cack
It was so bloody obvious he hadn't grounded it! Even JD said the same thing. Well he didn't say cack, he said it wasn't a try
I thought Dobson was very poor today.

I thought the game was mistake ridden, with far too many pens conceded off both sides.
It's pretty poor when Salford can't beat a team with no halfs , and quite a few more players missing.
Cas always seem to play attractive rugby( whatever team goes on the field ala classy cas)
I thought the mom was deserved and Solomona played well(would still prefer Carney at our club).I also agree with Josie that Dobson was very poor and never got control of the game

I'm same cp I'm really struggling through games at the moment it's a real effort to watch.
The BBC cameras don't help they make everything look really slow.
When I used to introduce people to rugby league I would say how fast and frantic it was - now I would not recommend our sport to anyone it's getting really painful to watch

John Kear should never commentate upon Castleford. He is obviously and understandably biased to Cas having spent most of his playing career there.
There is something missing from league; be it the rules or be it players simply going through set moves. Watching Dobson I kept thinking you were so much beter as a kid for Wigan, even later for Hull KR. There was just no spark and largely an obsession with size and players just going through the motions. I could understand Cas in way minus Gale but did it matter, were they better for having extra forwards etc in defence. For me something is wrong with the game when two teams plays so poorly with no imagination, no spark.

Probably right Cherry, across the board but the talent possibly hide it better in the NRL. The rules need to be looked at to make the present game better because at the moment teams are strangling each other to death; A BORING DEATH. Somehow creativity and risk need a greater reward because at the moment teams seem to be going through the motions o the point you can play with no halfbacks. Arguable Saints were better with no halfbacks and extra forwards. Matbe some drastic rules changes are needed.

It's two very good points raised
1) I think the overall game is less of a specticle
2) several teams have played without half backs recently and you haven't really seen much difference
Even today Phil Joseph plays at 9 seemed to work or at least not be terrible
I put a thread on a long time ago now but basically I think there are only 2 positions now 2nd row and half/full back hooker
Everyone pretty much is interchangable in those 2 positions

I thought it was just me! I am finding it very difficult to motivate myself to watch Wigan these days never mind other teams!
