How reliable is your "little birdie"? We get kinda used to a certain lack of reliability from the "reliable sources" on here...haven't had time to assess your accuracy yet, although you do seem to know something about coaching!
Does the fact that your nick is an anagram of "black shirts" have any significance?

Could they not be on about the younger gleeson we have? He's a centre vaealiki is injured, its more believable than martin being in our squad

How old is he? How big is he? What does Milward know about him? He is not even listed as part of the senior academy on the club web site.

I can't imagine he is any where near ready for an SL game.

If he does play him and puts Wild at 13 then that will be my first complaint against Millward!

Hes about 17 but apparantly an incredibly good player, if hes half as good as his cousin it'll do me fine! I'd imagine millward has done his research on him.

There is a little profile on Sean in the U21 squad on this site. Doesn't give much away, though.
Fair point, though, do we continue playing people out of position simply because they're older and more SL experience, or do we try a specialist centre even though he's only 17?
How much will Millward have seen of our U21 games to be able to make that judgement so early?

I'd imagine millward will of heard of gleeson from martin and also i'm sure coaches know of other younger players from other teams. Plus word of mouth from the club, gleeson has been talked about in the press a bit and under 21 reviews.
GeoffN i agree we shouldnt pick players out of position merely because they have more SL experience, because they havent got experience in that particualr position. coyle was only 17 when he played off the bench for us and i thought he did a cracking job, suppose we're going to have to accept millwards judgement until we see for ourselves, hope its true though hes been tipped for a huge future!

I can't remember ever feeling so excited about a squad announcement. Will it be Friday?

BTW, MrsC, stop replying for a while - we're neck-and-neck in the post count!
