Wigan v Wakey

Post by DaveO »

Half time and Wigan leading 30-6. Best try from Bateman who beat about 4 wakey players on last tackle. Smith goal kicking off and Charnley had a go at the last one also missed.

FPN looking good causing problems and some different attacking play. Most down the left. Only Bateman's try on the right.

Wakefield not that interested though!

Why do they keep watering the pitch right before games?? Is it a request from Wane? Surely it can take enough water in through the rest of the week and be left to provide a dry surface on match day??

Dom best try from intercept length of field
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Just a thought re points difference:

Before tonight's game, Hull were +140 and Wigan +15, a gap of 125.

Currently Wigan up by 42, Hull down by 24, reducing the gap by 66 to 59!

Final scores leave us 63 behind Hull - cut by half tonight.

Not putting a dampener on tonight but we will not catch Hull or pass their point difference. Wakey sounded awful and should have taken a bigger thumping and we have done nothing this season to suggest we can score tries when it matters against sides. We have struggled against the top sides since Easter.

Agreed wakefield were awful and only got in the gane when wigan took their eye of the ball.

Plus sides no one look tired after the game for wigan.

Smith i think has a knock he had no power in the boot tonight. However disgustimg the wigan fan in the boston east fan who shouted abuse at smith, smith clearly heard it look at stand peed off.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

:D Well done Wigan. Took full advantage of a Warrington loss.A Hull loss.Cut the points difference in half with Hull also.Tries galore and should have been more points.Sat nice in the title race, best possible start in the S8s.A Cake walk.
Possibly Three key players back next week from long injury layoffs, our new prop starts showing why hes been brought in.So,so many positives its
HAPPY DAYS.

It's a positive response obviously and with a few more bodies back next week I think we can improve again, however can we improve enough, that is certainly up for debate!!
