AUssie press suggesting the Brian Carney "hopes to get a release from the remaining year of his contract at Wigan."

But on the rumour front, rugby league may lose mark calderwood (i can hear your upset moans now). But apparantly there are a couple of premiership union clubs interested in him and he's stalling at signing a new deal

Well Carney is contracted till wigan till the end of 2006 anyway and so if he wants to leave hed be under contract with us. Lets hope millie can work his magic and persuade him to stay. If he did go who would you like to replace him? I personally would want reardon.

course he would be a good addition look where he can play:-
-Full back
-Wing
-Centre
and I think he has also played stand off. That is just the sort of player we need.

"Personally i would cash in and go and let him warm their bench with his a**e"! He is becoming a liability and a bit of a drain on your salary cap money, constantly injured, (or has that just been a ploy this season to secure the release of the Twelve months left on his contract)? Hmmmm! :sly:

All this "contract" stuff winds me up. If he wants to leave before his term is up he goes on the list with a price on his head - simple.
"hopes to be released"? This is ridiculous. If the roles were reversed, i.e. we hoped to be released from our obligations for the remaining year of his contract, he would run straight to the players union.
If the rumours are to be believed Carney has no loyalty to the contract he signed and ultimately no respect for the people who pay his wages - US!!
This one really does come across as a rat desertng the sinking ship. IMO he can go now - we've definitely had the best from him anyway (and that was only 1 season)
Re Reardon, I agree he would be a good replacement. Also, given that Noble was willing to offload him as part of the attempt to get Ellis he may be amenable to a change of club.
