I know it's easy to moan about the standard of RL thesedays but..

Discuss all things Wigan Warriors. Comments and opinions on all aspects of the club's performance are welcome.

Go to a well known video sharing site and type in

Inga Tuigamala - Eye of the tiger

Look at the style of play

That's what's missing.

Of course defences are tighter, but that football was more enjoyable by a country mile.

If you look at that from a neutral viewpoint it was glorious to watch, sadly i fear the likes of that style of rugby wont been seen again, coaches are more conservative by nature.

Wonderful to watch though, but i suspect it wasnt much fun for other fans and the teams on the receiving end of it.

If you want to get even more depressed then type Warrington v Wigan - 1995 Regal Trophy Final into the same site :conf:

And if you need reminding about the dislike of St. Helens, type in....
St. Helens v Wigan 1992 - dirty saints tactics.

As poor as some games of RL have been I don't think I've seen anything as bad/borong as Liverpool v Man Utd last Monday. It even made Rugby Union look exciting.

after the Regal Trophy i watch the final v Leeds where Rads became the first player in history to score a hat trick in a final, superb is all i can say, it brought a tear to my eye, that squad would have to be the greatest in the history of the game imo, simply magnificent

Watched a few old Wigan games on that site last few weeks and your right some of those tries would never happen today. Especially from a break down. Defences overall are far better and more organisation in defence.

Defence is something you can appreciate a good attack is something you like to watch. And the game was better 10 years ago to watch. But this is a concern in the NRL as well.

The quality of player (Wigan) is so much better but obviously the overall standard is weaker. Overall, if is far more entertaining.

Funnily enough, Inga's debut from 1994 is my Wigan TV Retro pick tomorrow.

Bradford cup semi from 92 (a pick for later in the month) is mesmerising quality.

Great work, thanks! I watched that Salford Lancashire Cup game the other night. Terrific stuff. That little Aussie half-back Salford had looked some player, didn't he?
