George rightly gets the praise for his play generally but I wonder if it is perhaps getting to his head a little.
In both the match against Stains and then again yesterday v Trinity at the death he threw out wild looping passes over the heads of opposition players both of which to my mind were lucky not to be intercepted leading to drastically different scorelines.

But both game winners. However, there is a right time and a wrong time to throw them.

i think hes being expected to stand up and deliver and hes doing it, Lockers does the type of passes we saw at the weekend alot and when hes not on the pitch its a skill we miss in attack,

they may look dangerous, but only if the opposition is expecting it.

we can thank BJB for knocking that last one into Marshalls hands though

There's a big difference, though, between interceptions where the half throws a pass without looking, or seeing a defender moving up to intercept, and throwing a pass over the head of a defender in the full knowledge that he is there. The latter is still not without risk, but if executed well...

Williams i believe has been told to create more by Wane, picking up on comments from wane a few games back when he said he wanted more from williams than just tries.

I think the fact they werent intercepted shows skill in fact very few (i cant remember the last) of williams passes are intercepted and that doesnt come by luck he picks the right moments for them

I think the issue is Tommy L. This is not bagging on Tommy because on the whole barring the wakey match (which he clearly was playing injured) he has been good. Its more the clubs issue, they needed ideally IMO to sign a playmaking 7 ala walsh or Carney a string puller. To get the best from George i think he needs the ability to dip in and out of plays rather than being the sole focus the entire time. Tommy was never that kind of 7 and that was why he was moved to 9 last time with us and again he still isnt that kinda 7 nor should we expect him to be

I think this is why things fall down a bit without lockers as he plays almost a 7 role sometimes.

Maybe this is where Sam T can reinvent himself when Tommy moves on?

I remember my old man saying as a stand off, on average pass it 4 times and step and run the 5th. Not necessarily in that order, but if a side knows George is going to run at them most times they can man up ?

Id be interested to hear from Powell over whether he still classes himself as a half back or whether he now considers himself a hooker. I dont think he ever got a run of games really @ 7/6 to show what he could do

Other players need to give him options and that has not been evident save for Morgan yesterday.
