Great signing for them no doubt
But can someone explain why his cocaine use was less serious than Gaz Hock's, which earned him a 2 year ban, not 12 matches?

Exactly the same point that I have made. The ban should be the same for all sportsmen. Having said that it is good to see the likes of Barba in SL, whether he will see out his contract is another matter.Kittwazzer wrote:Great signing for them no doubt

The RFL should respect the ban imposed just as the RFU should have done when he moved to France. If we are to set an example in sport drug use bans should be regarded as inclusive in all sport.

Don't think Saints fans will be shedding too many tears there.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:Walker and Owens gone.

Saints fan will be shedding tears when Barba completes his suspension plays a handful of games then claims he is homesick and returns to NRL to a very lucrative contract.Several clubs will be in for him as he is a top class player despite his past.

Yes, that looks a likely scenario, doesn't it? I said as much, chatting to some Saints fans after the game last night, and they didn't disagree.oldhooker wrote:Saints fan will be shedding tears when Barba completes his suspension plays a handful of games then claims he is homesick and returns to NRL to a very lucrative contract.Several clubs will be in for him as he is a top class player despite his past.

When it happens with Union players, there's no police involvement, no ban, just a fine and a quiet word...Kittwazzer wrote:Great signing for them no doubt
